Penn Hills named a “Tree City USA” for third year in a row, receives Tree City USA Growth Award

The Penn Hills Shade Tree Commission (PHSTC) is proud to announce that Penn Hills is AGAIN a Tree City USA!

Tree City USA is a national recognition program that began in 1976 and is sponsored by the Arbor Day Foundation in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service and National Association of State Foresters.  This positive recognition shows that trees, conservation and the environment are important to our community.

In recognition, we have received 2 road signs, a 4×6’ flag, and a wall plaque. The flag and plaque are on display at our Municipal building.

The PHSTC and all its great volunteers have worked hard and are proud of their accomplishments. In addition, we are grateful to Penn Hills Municipality and the Penn Hills Community Development Corporation for supporting our efforts. The PHSTC will continue to plant trees with the goals to beautify Penn Hills, to increase our property values, and to help the environment.
